Meet Charlie

Charlie is a gorgeous double yellow headed amazon. He was surrendered to a local humane society and then transferred to us. His previous owners didn't leave any information about him -- not even his name! (Edit: after the fact, his owners contacted the local humane society to say his name was Charlie, so I'm changing this post to reflect that.) Right now, all we've heard out of him is "Good boy!" and we reassure him that he is, indeed a good boy.

Charlie is understandably a bit grumpy right now. He hasn't been with us long, so we're letting him settle in and set the pace. Given the amount of yellow coloring on his head and the condition of his feet, we suspect that he's at least 20 years old; likely even older, like 30-40.

He needs a home that will not have any expectations from him. Parrots are incredibly resilient, so who knows how he'll be months or years down the road. Right now, he needs a home that will work with him and not push him too far. We suspect he's seen a lot in his days, and he needs to learn that humans can be nice!

If Charlie sounds like he may be the bird for you, please stop by to meet him!
